In March 2024, Men in Sheds ran their second Wooden Footstall workshop at The Exchange, after the session delivered in 2023 sold out very quickly!
Members worked with a group a 9-16 year olds to assemble the footstalls from kit form using hand tools such as saws, electric drills and sandpaper. In the afternoon the participants could decorate the stools however they liked.
The design for the stool was by one of the Shed Members, Michael, who made this item when he was 9 at school in 1949. This session was delivered as a part of Men in Sheds Bexley’s outreach work, to pass on the member’s woodwork skills to a different generation.
